子どもの権利条約とは?
英語で Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) と呼ばれる「子どもの権利条約」は、子どもの市民的・政治的・経済的・社会的・保健的・文化的権利を定めた国際人権条約である。
2023-02-21現在、CRCの締約国は196カ国、署名国は1カ国である。
締約国による条約の履行は、独立した専門家で構成される子どもの権利委員会によって監視されている。
選択議定書
英語で Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on a Communications Procedure と呼ばれる「子どもの権利条約の通報手続に関する選択議定書」は、締約国による条約違反の被害者であると主張する者が、子どもの権利委員会に直接苦情を申し立てることを可能にする 個人通報メカニズム を確立する条約のサイドアグリーメントである。
2025-04-03現在、選択議定書の締約国は53カ国、署名国は15カ国である。
