JFBA's survey on inclusive education

The following is an appeal from the Japan Federation of Bar Associations (JFBA).

The Japan Federation of Bar Associations is conducting this survey as the first subcommittee of its Human Rights Conference Symposium scheduled for December will be on the theme of inclusive education.

“Inclusive education” does not just mean having children in the same classroom. It is necessary for all children, including those with disabilities, to be valued and to believe that “it’s okay for everyone to be different” and “it’s okay to be who you are”.

To achieve this, it is necessary to provide each individual with the necessary support and consideration. To achieve this, it will be necessary to make major changes to current systems and values.

What we are thinking about is inclusive education that will be realized through such major changes. There are still many challenges to overcome in order to realize “inclusive education.”

First of all, we would like to hear the thoughts of those involved in order to further consider the challenges and what schools should be like.

Please let us know what you think.
